What is Blueface’s net worth?
The American rapper and songwriter Blueface has a net worth estimated at $4 million. He went viral in 2018 with the release of his music video “Respect My Crypn.” The single “Thotiana,” featuring Cardi B and YG, became his most successful track as of now, reaching #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.
Legal Issues & $13 Million Las Vegas Lawsuit
Blueface has encountered several legal issues throughout his career. In late 2018, after a man attempted to rob him at a gas station, he fired shots at the suspect’s vehicle, resulting in his arrest and a felony charge for shooting at an occupied vehicle. He was released on bail shortly thereafter. In early 2019, he was arrested again, this time for gun possession charges.
In October 2022, Blueface faced charges of attempted murder and shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, leading to his incarceration at the Clark County Detention Center. He later took a plea deal and agreed to a three-year probation period. If he violates probation during these three years, he faces an automatic 2-5 year sentence.
This shooting incident transpired at a strip club in Las Vegas known as Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club. Following the incident, the club’s owner filed a lawsuit against Blueface for lost revenue due to the establishment’s closure. On October 23, 2023, a judgment of $13 million was awarded to the club owner. More specifically, Blueface was ordered to pay $13,072,482, which included $12.6 million for lost revenue, $200,000 in lease damages, and $84,000 for employee expenses. Blueface did not contest this case in court nor did he have legal representation. Having failed to make any payments towards these damages, his debt escalated to $14 million by January 2024, factoring in interest and penalties.
In mid-January 2024, Blueface was again arrested for breaching the conditions of his probation related to a 2021 assault in the San Fernando Valley.
Early Life
Originally named Jonathan Michael Porter, Blueface was born on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. After residing with his mother in the Santa Clarita Valley, he later moved in with his father in Oakland. Following a return to the Los Angeles area, he enrolled at Arleta High School, where he was part of the marching band and served as the starting quarterback for the football team. He led his team to victory in the East Valley League championship in 2014. Porter went on to play football at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina but left the university in 2016.
Viral Breakthroughs
In January 2017, he began his foray into rapping under the name “Blueface Bleedem,” a nod to the School Yard Crips street gang. As the story goes, he was discovered while picking up a phone charger at a friend’s recording session. Before leaving, he was dared to engage in a rap battle, and the outcome produced the song “Deadlocs,” which he uploaded to SoundCloud, where it attracted a modest audience.
Success
In June 2018, having shortened his stage name to “Blueface,” he released his full-length album “Famous Cryp.” The album gained traction in Southern California, largely due to the popular track “Dead Locs,” and also included the original version of his hit single “Thotiana.”
Blueface gained widespread fame that same year with the release of the music video for “Respect My Cryppin’,” showcasing his distinctive rapping style and ties to the Crips street gang. This newfound attention propelled several of his other songs into the spotlight, including “Next”…
Blueface became widely recognized for his tracks “Big Thing” and “Thotiana.” He gained even more fame in late 2018 after initiating a contest on Instagram to select a high school in the Los Angeles area for a visit, with Pasadena High School emerging as the winner. His virality surged again towards the end of 2018 when he previewed his upcoming song “Bleed It” online.
In 2018, Blueface signed with Cash Money West, the West Coast division of Birdman’s Cash Money Records label.
Throughout 2019, Blueface’s popularity continued to climb. Early in the year, his first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, “Thotiana,” gained traction. A remix featuring Cardi B and YG propelled the song to number eight on the chart. Additionally, in 2019, he released the music video for his single “Stop Cappin,” which garnered over five million views within just four days on YouTube. He later dropped his eight-track EP “Dirt Bag,” which included collaborations with Rich the Kid, Lil Pump, Offset, and other artists.
March 2020 marked the release of Blueface’s debut studio album, “Find the Beat.” This album included collaborations with artists like Polo G, Gunna, Jeremih, DaBaby, and YBN Nahmir, featuring singles such as “Close Up,” “First Class,” “Obama,” and “Holy Moly.” “Find the Beat” reached number 64 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at number 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Blueface has collaborated on various tracks. In 2019, he was featured on French Montana’s “Slide,” the remix of NLE Choppa’s “Shotta Flow,” and Farid Bang’s “FULU$.” The following year, he appeared in remixes of DDG’s “Moonwalking in Calabasas” and 1TakeJay’s “Proud of U.”
Boxing Career
Apart from his music career, Blueface has also taken steps into amateur boxing. In the summer of 2021, he made his debut against TikTok star Kane Trujillo on the undercard of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 19: VanZant vs. Ostovich, emerging victorious by unanimous decision. Following his removal from two scheduled exhibition matches in 2022 due to allegations of domestic abuse toward his girlfriend, he was set to fight TikTok star Ed Mathews in London in 2023.
Personal Life
Blueface has a son named Javaughn and a daughter named Journey with his ex-girlfriend, social media influencer Jaidyn Alexis. He has his son’s name tattooed on his right arm. In 2020, after discovering Blueface’s infidelity, Alexis caused significant damage to his car and property. Later, his new girlfriend, Chrisean Rock, stole his car.
Real Estate
In January 2020, Blueface acquired a home for $1.22 million in Chatsworth, California. He customized the exterior with a blue and white camouflage design. In August 2023, he sold the property for $1.353 million. Prior to his ownership, the previous occupants had themed the home as a “Star Wars Getaway.” A video tour showcases the property in its original Star Wars decor:
