Blueface has encountered several legal issues throughout his career. In late 2018, after a man attempted to rob him at a gas station, he fired shots at the suspect’s vehicle, resulting in his arrest and a felony charge for shooting at an occupied vehicle. He was released on bail shortly thereafter. In early 2019, he was arrested again, this time for gun possession charges.

In October 2022, Blueface faced charges of attempted murder and shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, leading to his incarceration at the Clark County Detention Center. He later took a plea deal and agreed to a three-year probation period. If he violates probation during these three years, he faces an automatic 2-5 year sentence.

This shooting incident transpired at a strip club in Las Vegas known as Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club. Following the incident, the club’s owner filed a lawsuit against Blueface for lost revenue due to the establishment’s closure. On October 23, 2023, a judgment of $13 million was awarded to the club owner. More specifically, Blueface was ordered to pay $13,072,482, which included $12.6 million for lost revenue, $200,000 in lease damages, and $84,000 for employee expenses. Blueface did not contest this case in court nor did he have legal representation. Having failed to make any payments towards these damages, his debt escalated to $14 million by January 2024, factoring in interest and penalties.

In mid-January 2024, Blueface was again arrested for breaching the conditions of his probation related to a 2021 assault in the San Fernando Valley.

Early Life

Originally named Jonathan Michael Porter, Blueface was born on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. After residing with his mother in the Santa Clarita Valley, he later moved in with his father in Oakland. Following a return to the Los Angeles area, he enrolled at Arleta High School, where he was part of the marching band and served as the starting quarterback for the football team. He led his team to victory in the East Valley League championship in 2014. Porter went on to play football at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina but left the university in 2016.

Viral Breakthroughs

In January 2017, he began his foray into rapping under the name “Blueface Bleedem,” a nod to the School Yard Crips street gang.
